who can identify this gear? we’re moving into a new building and all this telecom gear is in there. i’m curious what each and every piece is/what it does.

It’s a telecom device for splitting an OC3 or OC12 into seprate OC3/ T-1 lines.

i did google, and came up with pretty much the same thing you guys did. i figured out that the “top piece” was a multiplexer, but i was more curious what exactly it was being used for in this setup. perhaps i should’ve phrased my questions better.
as i said, i was more curious as to what it was being used for. did someone have multiple ds-3’s coming into this facility or…?
i think i might have figured it out. apparently one of the previous tenants was a “call center” (telemarketing firm). i assume they probably had quite a few phone lines coming in and that’s the reason why all that gear was there.
