one of the local newspapers has some message boards that are pretty much a free for all. for the most part, anything goes, live and uncensored. over the last few days the conversation has been dominated by a single topic over an incident that happened (locally) and everyone is starting to tire of hearing about it.
one of those who was heavily involved in the discussion last posted this:
“yes, let’s not talk about the unpleasant things that go on. let’s just pretend everything is beautiful … the reason these things continue to permeate our society is because people choose to ignore the unpleasant instead of doing something about it. yes, by all means, let’s bury our heads and talk about only happy stuff.”
not one to let a good opportunity pass by, i quickly responded with:
“i recommend we talk about something that’s not nearly as controversial: politics or religion, perhaps?
actually, with regards to that, i’d be interested in hearing everyone’s opinions on that crybaby feminist (hillary rodham clinton) or the inexperienced muslim (b. hussein obama). or we could talk about mccain, whose daughter ain’t too shabby (though they never show her from the back — i imagine she’s packin’ plenty of junk in that trunk!).”
ahh, the lost art of trolling. hopefully that’ll get ‘em going. =)
